Hello, I am glad you are visiting my webpage to learn more about my practice. For many of the people I work with, I am the first mental health professional they have seen. Others are looking for a more effective approach to mental health treatment, or simply haven't been offered the types of treatments I provide. Either way, my hope is that you will leave each visit with me feeling empowered and confident in your ability to apply strategies between visits. While I do see some people longer term, I aim to work together to improve functioning as effectively and as efficiently as possible. Treatment plans are often for 8-12 visits, though may be shorter or longer depending on client's needs, preferences, and progress.

I use a personal approach with each of the people I work with, and use treatments that have the strongest research support. I primarily use ACT, CBT, and mindfulness-based interventions. I see people for a range of mental health diagnoses such as anxiety and depression, and have further specialization in providing care that improves overall health, including managing acute and chronic pain, improving sleep, PNES/functional neurologic conditions, diet and weight loss, smoking cessation, alcohol and cannabis use reduction or cessation, and adjusting to change in function due to chronic illness such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, and stroke, among others. Additionally, I provide mental health services to athletes to improve performance and enjoyment with physical activity.
My goal is to improve overall quality of life and function of the people I work with.

I am currently accepting new clients, a referral is not needed to be seen. On the first visit, you can expect a 90 minute visit where we will have a clinical interview, may conduct brief psychological assessment, and we will discuss my recommended treatment plan. We will have a discussion whether this treatment plan fits with your goals and expectations, and whether I am the best person to provide the services you need. Return visits are typically 45-minutes once per week, though may be more frequent or spaced depending on client preference and availability.
I aim to respond within 48 business hours, though often respond sooner. Visits are often with "house calls" in the clients home and more recently has included telehealth services for a safer and more convenient experience. Please note I do NOT provide emergency mental health services, and if there is a mental health emergency, new and existing clients are recommended to call the National Suicide Hotline (1-800-273-8255), call 9-1-1, or go to the nearest emergency room.
